Summary

This position provides a full range of counseling and case management services to delinquent or dependent youth.  The level of the employee in this classification is determined by program needs and employee qualifications.

 



Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and implements case management activities.
  • Develops and implements treatment plans.
  • Provides individual counseling and completes related documentation thoroughly and in a timely manner.
  • Provides group counseling and completes related documentation thoroughly and in a timely manner.
  • Participates in and documents case consultations, including quarterly treatment reviews thoroughly and in a timely manner.
  • Writes progress or court reports as necessary and discharge summaries thoroughly and in a timely manner.
  • Attends court hearings.
  • Maintains regular contact and communicates effectively with juvenile probation officers or case workers, including them in the treatment process and updating them on clients' progress.
  • Maintains regular contact and communicates effectively with parents or legal guardians, including them in the treatment process and updating them on clients' progress.
  • Provides continuing care planning by making contacts to appropriate referrals and writing the plan.
  • Demonstrates appropriate use of Safe Crisis Management

 

Job Requirements



Minimum Requirements


High school diploma or GED and twenty-four (24) credit hours of college education or accredited training program in substance abuse counseling and/or other human services area.
Higher education given preference
OR
Certificate in Additions (CADC, LSW, LCSW, LPC, or LCPC) plus experience in a technician level position
Any new professional staff who do not have an IAODAPCA CADC or above certification when hired or first moved into this position must:
obtain an IAODAPCA CADC or above certification (LSW, LCSW, LPC, or LCPC) within two years after the date of employment; and
not work in any supervisory capacity until such requirements are met; and
work under the direct, verifiable supervision of an individual who has staff supervisory responsibility at the facility and who has the required qualifications and certifications; and
adhere to, a professional code of ethics developed by the organization
Maintain a valid driver's license
