This position ensures the clinical function of a residential treatment unit which includes implementing and reviewing the Unit Management treatment model; supervising staff, monitoring and approving records, treatment plans, family histories, and counselor logs; supervising and training staff while ensure the all Company and client contractual requirements are followed.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts chart and file audits to maintain contractual compliance.
  • Conducts resident unit meetings.
  • Participates in the hiring, discipline, evaluations and terminations of all unit employees.
  • Conducts regular tours and inspections of the unit.
  • Oversees residents and ensures compliance with established program standards, measures and outcomes.
  • Counsels residents regarding vocational, educational and employment programs or facility job opportunities.
  • Responsible for orientation and training of program staff. Ensures training documentation is properly recorded and communicated.
  • Interprets and enforces policies and procedures, initiating and resolving corrective action plans.
  • Assumes a caseload in response to staffing shortages.
  • Leads and participates in staff meetings, seminars and workshops to improve and develop programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Provides and documents supervision sessions for direct reports regarding their developmental skills and progress.
  • Presents group lectures.
  • Trains Senior Counselors and Unit Supervisors in their duties.
  • Other duties, as assigned.


Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in the Social Sciences is preferred.
  • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice or Human Services is highly desirable.
  • Where required by state/contract mandates, must be a qualified supervisor in accordance with state credentialing guidelines.
  • Experience working with a corrections population is desired along with substance abuse treatment experience.
  • Organized, and demonstrated strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
