  • The Naperville Bridge School, a partnership between Naperville Illinois School District 203 and ABRAXAS Youth and Family Services ( Subsidiary of GEO) is currently seeking teachers to be responsible for the instruction and supervising a class of special needs students utilizing various techniques to promote learning. Duties include planning, organizing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating class activities, developing Individualized Education Plans (IEP) and working with assigned staff, therapists and students to achieve the IEP goals and objectives. The teacher is responsible for supervising assigned students and classroom staff insuring that students and staff are compliant with all school policies and procedures. The ability to differentiate instruction and manage maladaptive behaviors is essential. Applicants must have knowledge of data collection and its application to instructional design.

     

     

 

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • The following educational requirements are acceptable for this classification including:
  • 1. Illinois Professional Educator License LBS I
  • 2. Clear understanding of special education instruction and behavior systems.
  • 3. Knowledge of assessment and instructional practices across disability areas
  • 4. Knowledge of content and contemporary instructional technology.
  • 5. Ability to collect and interpret both academic and behavioral data.

 Other Qualifications:

  •  At least twenty-one (21) years of ag e.
  •  Criminal clearances 
  •  Non-communicable diseases physical exam.
  •  Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
