Compensation Base: $26,187.20 to $29,619.20 annually

Primary Purpose of Job:

Implementation of the Therapeutic Community Treatment model under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Supervisor.

 Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and submission of all treatment and educational outlines, lectures, handouts and other relevant materials as requested by a Supervisor.
  • Record keeping and daily clinical charting as required by the CEC program model and DASA licensing requirements and / or as requested by IDOC.
  • Administration and knowledge of educational, substance abuse and life skills assessments and integration of results into resident client treatment plan.
  • Participation in all training and supervision activities as provided for CEC staff and as required by IDOC.
  • Preparation of any schedules, reports or other information required for the program and requested by the Clinical Supervisor, Multi-Disciplinary team or IDOC personnel.
  • In conjunction with TASC and / or part as part of re-entry process, assess client aftercare needs / issues and services.
  • Provide counseling to client’s family or significant others as requested by the Supervisor or Correctional Staff.
  • Coordinates individual clinical care of assigned client caseload.
  • Participate in treatment planning / conferences.
  • Observes / supervises client interactions.
  • Provides individual and group therapy / counseling.  Meets with assigned clients as necessary.
  • Maintains and updates resident client’s records; documents program in charts.
  • Performs ASI Assessments and any other required assessment instruments.
  • Assist IDOC Staff in monitoring offender behavior and developing intervention plans regarding difficult offenders.   
  • If not certified, obtain a CADC or reciprocal credential within 2 years of employment.
  • Works as a team member with entire treatment staff and ancillary personnel to promote consistent and coordinated efforts. 
  • Other duties as requested by Supervisor or designee.

 

 

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and one (1) year experience in substance abuse treatment preferred.  A bachelor’s degree in Education or Human Services may be substituted for experience; or
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Criminal Justice, Counseling, Social Work, or related field(s) and/or a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC). Master’s preferred.
  • Knowledge of the field of addictions or mental health counseling preferred.
  • Required skills include: time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work overtime as requested by supervisor.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
