This position is responsible for directing the daily activity of Contract Administration relative to research and development of contracts with existing and new contract programming and initiatives, to include executive reporting and department project management. This position also serves as a primary liaison between contract customers and the field. Supervisory responsibilities are inherent to the development of this position.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees the management of an internal professional team engaged in development and support of Contract Administration. Performs duties typically expected of a director including performance reviews, project planning, hiring, disciplinary actions, firings, and process improvements.
  • Oversees the process for identifying short and long-term department objectives and developing comprehensive strategies to achieve them.
  • Acts as the focal point for communication with legal, operations, and business development team disciplines for resolution of contract issues and disputes.
  • Responsible for reviewing responses to proposals and new contracts to identify potential concerns and to note deliverables.
  • Meets with contract customers to address contractual concerns and engender trust in client relationship with the Company.
  • Develops and negotiates contractual agreements and modifications.
  • Serves as a corporate liaison to regional offices and facilities. Provides subject expert knowledge to advise and consult with them.
  • Directs development of research and reporting projects.
  • Directs development and preparation of tracking reports and other contractual reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field required. Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field desirable.
  • Eight (8) years of progressive experience in a professional level capacity with exposure in Business Administration, Contract Administration, Corrections or related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal acquisition process, government contracting principals and governing regulations (FAR).
  • Ability to manage multiple work assignments and meet critical deadlines. Extensive knowledge and understanding of contracting principals.
  • Experience in management and administrative procedures, with exceptional writing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to make presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Frequent travel with overnight stays required.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
