  • This position performs secretarial, administrative and clerical duties to assist and relieve line staff and Facility Director of clerical details. Assignments generally involve work of a confidential nature and require a general knowledge of the practices and procedures of the function.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    • Interviews inmates concerning grievances. Maintains inmate grievance log and files and prepares
    • Assists with a variety of administrative matters.
    • Acts as Administrative Remedy Coordinator for the Programs Department.
    • Logs and tracks all administrative remedies accepted for processing to ensure timely responses are provided.  Assists inmates in completing forms.monthly grievance reports.
    • Serves as Administrative Remedy Process Training Instructor for new  employees.
    • Maintains and updates as necessary the inmate handbook.
    • Responsible for assuring that employee time scheduling is accomplished correctly and on time.
    • Serves as Facility Administrator Secretary in her absence.Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma (or equivalent).
  • Two years of secretarial experience, preferably where administrative support has been given.
  • Certification from a business school or college education could be substituted for the experience.
  • Familiar with current office procedures. Knowledge of the fundamentals of office organization.
  • Able to handle a variety of simple to moderately complex tasks, while keeping work flowing in an orderly manner. Express thoughts logically, in English, in both written and verbal form, using correct grammar; work independently and write reports; converse with visitors and telephone callers in such a way as to portray the professional atmosphere of the company; effectively interact with residents and staff.
