This position serves as an advocate for students by assisting them in the areas of academic development as well as emotional and social development.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establishes the school counseling program and develops activities and resources to implement and evaluate the program consulting with school staff in making decisions about the program.
  • Provides individual and group counseling services to meet the developmental, preventive, and remedial needs of students.
  • Assesses prior school records and transcripts of students to aid in placement decisions for classes.
  • Interpret tests, student data and other assessments and appropriately discuss results with students and parents in a counseling environment.
  • Develops, reviews, and revises a career and educational plan for identified students.
  • Provides ongoing counseling services, including vocational counseling, anger management and others, as needed, to these students, as needed to prevent student drop out and repeated juvenile violators.
  • Supports the company’s philosophy and mission and promotes the Seven Key Principles of care.
  • Role models and teaches effective supervision and management of students, interacts meaningfully with students, and observes student behavior and intervenes appropriately.
  • Assures and monitors student location and movement.
  • Communicates effectively such as using various communication systems effectively, maintains regular communication with employees, peers, and supervisors, and provides constructive feedback to employees, peers, and supervisors.
  • Maintains confidentiality of information as it relates to client information.


Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

    • Have a minimum of a Master's Degree
    • Colorado Department of Education Special Service Provider License


  • Other Qualifications:
    • At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
    • Criminal clearances (act 33 and 34, specific state & child clearances and, if necessary, FBI).
    • Non-communicable diseases physical exam.
    • Valid driver’s license from employees’ state of residence.
