This position ensures resident compliance with standard Company policies procedures and overall safety and security of the facility. This position also ensures the on duty staff is adequately trained on appropriate resident behavior and security issues in compliance with all Compliance and client policies and procedures.  Ensures the facility environment is supportive of treatment programs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages resident behavioral problems and enforces discipline in accordance with pre-established facility guidelines.
  • Trains Shift Supervisors in the expected performance of remaining at assigned security check point.
  • Supervises resident movement and transportation.
  • Maintains full and accurate resident count.
  • Coordinates all reception and discharge activities.
  • Conducts living quarters and body searches when necessary;
  • Responds to crises and takes appropriate intervention actions
  • Facilitates maintenance assignments and urine testing.
  • Maintains the safety and security of the facility building, visitors, on-duty staff, and residents during assigned shift.
  • Supervises Shift Supervisors on duty.
  • Recruits for and interviews for open staff positions and recommends successful candidates.
  • Responsible for daily staffing schedule and mandatory overtime roster.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, human services or criminal justice.
  • Two (2) years of experience in management, supervision and service delivery preferably in corrections environment or long term residential program.
  • Good basic computer keyboard skills and Windows-based software applications required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with internal and external contacts at all levels.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize appropriately.
  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
