This position is responsible for performing general maintenance and janitorial duties at the facility.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform facility maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, landscaping, etc., and janitorial work as directed to ensure the facility is maintained in proper condition.
  • Maintain security of all tools and cleaning supplies.
  • Inspect buildings and equipment for any safety violations and fire hazards; ensures compliance with local and state building and fire codes, and health and safety standards.
  • Respond to facility maintenance and custodial requests in a timely manner; ensure that the facility meets all safety requirements. Notify supervisor immediately of any unsafe conditions that may jeopardize the wellbeing of staff and residents.
  • Operate a motor vehicle to run errands to pick up necessary supplies for maintenance department, as needed, to ensure they are on hand to keep the facility running smoothly.
  • Complete in-service training to meet the requirements for continued personal and professional self-development.


Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus four (4) years related experience in general maintenance, including electrical systems; or a combination of education and experience as approved by the facility director.
  • Working knowledge of heating and cooling systems preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of equipment necessary for performing duties.
  • Other Qualifications:
    • At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
    • Criminal clearances (act 33 and 34, specific state & child clearances and, if necessary, FBI).
    • Non-communicable diseases physical exam.
    • Valid driver’s license and insurance from employees’ state of residence.
