Under the immediate direction of counsel, provides administrative support to attorneys in the resolution of legal and corporate governance matters.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs administrative duties for the counsel.
  • Drafts memoranda and correspondence for counsel. May attend judicial proceedings or corporate governance meetings.
  • May provide general assistance in preparing for closings, judicial and administrative matters as well as corporate governance issues as directed.
  • Undertakes basic research of relevant law sources to prepare legal memoranda and correspondence.
  • Prepares legal summaries as directed by counsel.
  • Maintains case files, court calendars and litigation timetables.
  • May take affidavits from employees and other affected parties, as necessary.
  • Performs notary functions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration preferred.
  • Three (3) years of relevant work experience in the legal field preferred.
  • Certification (Registered Paralegal or Certified Legal Assistant) at this level is not required, but preparatory work toward a recognized professional society or state agency certification is preferred.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
