Summary
Under close supervision, this position performs the day to day planning, organizing, and coordinating of resident new arrivals and operates within legal constraints and contract agency stipulations. Performs client check-in procedures, assists case managers with case coordination and documentation.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Completes initial intake process with clients to completion, including intake paperwork, input into Company database, and assignment of groups and other services.
- Coordinate flow of Intake/Orientation paperwork and ensure each resident has completed Intake process in accordance with Contract
- Assists case managers with case coordination, communication with appropriate official agencies, and preparation and distribution of reports.
- Files, prepares charts and performs data entry as assigned.
- May facilitate resident orientation on a weekly basis. Documents clients’ attendance, participation and progress in Company database
- Review Community Placement material from TDCJ and assign appropriate classification to residents
- May orient residents upon arrival at facility to provide smooth assimilation into program (e.g., have resident complete paperwork, take on facility tour, introduce to other residents, etc.) Track pending arrivals and releases to ensure facility does not exceed population cap
- Assist Security Shift Supervisors and Case Management Supervisors with resident intake concerns.
- Conduct training of Company database and assist Case Managers and Administrative staff when needed.
- Communicates with Programs’ staff on any information received from the new arrival residents about special care or special needs.
- Assists with the creation of resident case files
- Proficient with data entry and computer skills for generation of daily office communication.
- Participate in staff meetings by sharing observations and recommendations regarding the facility, residents and staff relations to identify and solve problems and function as a unified team.
- Maintain confidentiality obtained through job duties regarding employees, vendors, residents, outside agencies, etc., so that sensitive information is only given on a "need to know" basis.
- Comply with GEO policies and work rules as described in the company Employee Handbook and the Facility Policies and Procedures Manual, including directives of GEO managers and supervisors in a cooperative spirit to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Comply with Facility safety rules; take appropriate corrective action to ensure work is performed in a safe manner and without injury to self or others.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of staff in a manner that promotes a team spirit and a sense of cooperation.
