Summary
Maintains a classroom environment that facilitates the teaching of technical skills, occupation-specific skills, and knowledge of all aspects of Environmental Services.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides classroom instruction in Environmental Services; provides technical skill proficiency, and includes competency-based applied learning that contributes to the academic knowledge, higher-order reasoning and problem-solving skills, work attitudes, general employability skills, technical skills, and occupation-specific skills, and knowledge of all aspects of the Hospitality & Tourism career cluster.
- Preparing students for employment as environmental service providers or technicians for residential homes and institutions (hotels/motels, hospitals, nursing homes, campus buildings, and office buildings), Cleaner Commercial or Institution, or for advanced training in the environmental services industry.
- Maintains records including testing, daily inmate/detainee work, attendance and general record keeping.
- Evaluates and maintains inmate/detainee academic progress.
- Provides individual tutoring.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Counsels students concerning their performance, behavior, and personal problems.
