Compensation Base: $16.00 Per Hour

Summary

This position maintains an orderly environment during assigned shift by conducting standard operating procedures in accordance with facility policies/procedures and required client contractual obligations. Daily schedules are followed by position and it serves as role model for residents and subordinates.

This is a Full Time position for the 2nd Shift: 4 pm-12 am



Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assigns duties to monitor staff.
  • Reports resident and staff accidents or injuries to supervisor.
  • Performs scheduled resident headcounts and completes written count reports in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Counts and monitors narcotic medications in locked cabinet.
  • Reports all incidents to supervisor and provide written documentation as required.
  • Collects urine samples for random and routine substance abuse screenings of residents and staff as required.
  • When assigned, transports residents by company vehicle to out-of-facility appointments.
  • Conducts fire drills on assigned shift.
  • Inspects chores and facility and reports issues to supervisor or maintenance as needed.
  • As needed, rotates to assigned security desks and monitors metal detectors and security cameras to maintain safe and secure orderly environment for residents.
  • Enforces the facility rules of conduct with the residents.
  • Performs other duties as assigned






 

Job Requirements



Minimum Requirements

  • High school or equivalent.
  • One (1) year as a Monitor I or two (2) years related experience in a similar field
  • Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred. 
  • Experience in criminal justice field preferred. 
  • Good interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to write reports in a clear and accurate manner. 
  • Ability to organize work in a timely manner. 
  • Good written and oral communication skills. 
  • Ability to adhere to strict guidelines. 
  • Valid driver’s license. 
  • Occasional overtime is required for this position. 
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department
