This position is responsible for maintaining the programs for the facility’s inmates and manages the facility’s Education Director, Program Director, and Wellness and Treatment Programs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides: daily supervision and maintenance of standards for Education, Programs, and Treatment staff.
  • Provides typical management duties of and Education, Programs, and Treatment staff including interviewing and selecting candidates for vacancies, providing on-going training, resolving problems between staff and inmates or between staff members, applying discipline as necessary, and making recommendations for terminations.
  • Provides short- and long term program planning and development.
  • Evaluates program compliance with applicable standards and expectations to include internal standards and external contract compliance.
  • Reviews data input, validation of data consistency and generation of appropriate reports for program documentation
  • Produces Master Activity Schedule.
  • Develops and monitor annual budget for assigned sections and for submitting it to the Warden for incorporation in to the facility budget.
  • Monitors services provided to the Special Management housing areas.
  • Oversees the delivery of services for the inmate Law Library
  • Supervises the Inmate Work Program.
  • Services as a member of the facility management team.
  • Advises and recommends items to be included as facility policy.
  • Manages the facility’s Classification Program
  • Serves as a member of the management team in the annual revision of the policy and procedures manual.
  • Responsible for all support functions to include Food Services and Maintenance. Performs other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent certification required.
  • College coursework and advanced training in behavioral sciences, correctional services or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in corrections or related field with experience in the field of corrections at the level of mid-management required.  Knowledge of program objectives, policies, procedures and requirements for managing a secure correctional facility required.
  • Must be mature, flexible, intellectually alert, able to command the respect and confidence of inmates and staff, and philosophically committed to the objectives of the facility.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
