Summary

  • This position provides direct supervision to the Case Managers and Substance Abuse Counselors and ensures the timely delivery of effective clinical services while maintaining compliance with all required internal and external contract standards and policies.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises assigned Case Managers and Substance Abuse Counselors.
  • Ensures timely delivery of effective clinical services, submits monthly reports and audits clinical charts.
  • Ensures compliance with all required internal and external contract standards and policies.
  • Ensures effective integration of support services such as family services.
  • Provides continual training to staff.
  • Hires and manages of all activities during orientation period for new hires.
  • Reviews and revises curriculum for residents.
  • Ensures compliance with all Company and client policies and procedures including PREA.
  • Conducts chart and file audits to maintain contractual compliance.
  • Conducts regular tours and inspections of the units.
  • Interprets and enforces policies and procedures, initiates and resolves corrective action plans.
  • Leads and participates in staff meetings, seminars and workshops to improve and develop programs and staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree in Social Work or a Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences with one (1) year of experience supervising counseling staff with a criminal justice population in a substance use disorder program.  An AOD Counselor certification by DHCS must be obtained within six (6 ) months of hire, or

Bachelor's Degree in behavioral sciences or a related field and the equivalent of two (2) cumulative years of full time experience supervising counselors a criminal justice population in a community based program, or

High school diploma or equivalent in addition to the equivalent of 6 (6) cumulative years of full time experience supervising counselors a criminal justice population in a in a substance use disorder program and possess an AOD certification within six (6) months of hire.

Have working knowledge of cognitive behavioral therapy programs; and
Proven experience in supervising a substance abuse program.
Preference given to experience within a correctional setting.
Ability to interact in a professional manner in both individual and group counseling settings.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work with a team of professionals and have the ability to implement team strategy approaches to work assignments.
Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
