  • The Case Manager has the primary responsibility of providing therapeutic program services to residents. The Case manager will be assigned specific residents, referred to as a "caseload" and monitor the service delivery for these residents while they are in the program from intake to discharge. These services may include, but not limited to; didactic, psychoeducational, individual and group counseling, peer awareness activities, therapeutic encounters, crisis intervention and recordkeeping. The Case Manager shall provide these services within the scope of the local certification, and in accordance with contract assurances and prohibitions.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Role-model at all times; appropriate, pro-recovery behavior for all staff/residents.
  • Implements the treatment/supervision model under the collaborative direction and supervision of the Case Manager Supervisor, Deputy Director of Treatment, Program Director, and referring agency site monitors.
  • Coordinate, in collaboration with referring agency staff and assigned residents, treatment plans, based off of agency approved assessment tools and criminogenic needs.
  • Observe, supervise, record resident interactions.
  • Conduct group and individual g (1:1) IAC with GEO and referring agency policy.
  • Maintain and update resident records.
  • Evaluate the process of assigned residents.
  • Make adjustments as required to any treatment plans based on the individual’s progress.
  • Develop release place for residents early in the resident’s placement to follow through to release.
  • Participate in all GEO training and supervision activities as provided by staff.
  • Works as a team member with all treatment staff and ancillary personnel to promote consistent and coordinated efforts.
  • May fill traditional security functions during times of facility emergencies or staff shortage.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field from accredited university
  • Four (4) years case management experience in a corrections or drug and alcohol treatment agency.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Experience working with a corrections population or in a long term care setting is desired.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to prepare written reports.
  • Ability to learn rules, regulations and security procedures required by the institution.
  • Ability to work with a team of professionals and have the ability to implement team strategy approaches to work assignments.
  • Knowledge of computers and word processing and spreadsheet software programs such as MS Word, MS Excel, MS Office required.
  • Organized, and demonstrated strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
