Compensation Base: $58,000.00 Annually

Summary
This position provides oversight of all therapeutic activities in collaboration with the other STOP Placement Office staff. In particular, this position will provide oversight of STOP Case Managers to coordinate placement assessments, placements, and delivery of case management services for Participants.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in implementation of program services and activities to ensure compliance with CDCR’s
  • administrative and fiscal regulations in accordance with agreement provisions.
  • Assists in development, management, and oversight of program facilities and services.
  • Assists in ensuring the efficient operations of subcontracted facilities.
  • Directly supervises all STOP Case Managers.
  • Assists in development of quality control procedures to ensure high quality service.
  • Assists in resolving programmatic and personnel problems.
  • Assists in conducting staff meetings with all employees to discuss personnel and program issues.
  • Remains knowledgeable in the programmatic process and be able to define and identify program methodology, counseling modalities, program design needs, the various facets of the program and the principles and techniques of individual counseling and small and large group counseling.
  • Oversees the casework process according to CDCR requirements.
  • Tracks and reports case management hours, leave and benefit time for payroll purposes.
  • Assists the Training Coordinator in organizing and facilitating bi-annual trainings with CDCR for Placement Office staff and CBPs.
  • Assists in monitoring and developing staff training.
  • Attends Provider Fairs and PACT meetings according to availability.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Sciences or related field and one (1) year experience providing cognitive behavioral therapy services to an offender population, supervisory experience with case managers or
    substance abuse counselors.
  • Certification as an AOD Counselor with a certification recognized by Department of Health Care Services (DHCS).
  • Ability to understand a variety of models including cognitive behavioral therapy, theories of addiction and dynamics related to substance use and other criminogenic risk factors.

  • Ability to know and comply with program documentation requirements, applicable ethical and professional standards of conduct.
  • Ability to conduct initial clinical assessments and/or evaluations which serve as the basis for diagnosis and treatment.
  • Ability to provide services appropriate to the personal and cultural identity and language of the participant.
  • Ability to tailor helping strategies and treatment modalities to the participant's stage of dependence, change or recovery.
  • Ability to appropriately use strategies from accepted and culturally appropriate models with participants with substance use and other criminogenic risk factors.
  • Able to establish rapport with Participants, including management of crisis situation and determination of need for additional professional assistance
  • Facilitate the Participant's engagement in the treatment and recovery process.
  • Possess the case management skills necessary to implement the case plan, consult as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, and assess ongoing treatment planning efficacy.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
