Summary:  

Under direct supervision, performs standard and routine billing and accounting activities.  Work requires capabilities in basic accounting and business procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Enters client demographics and payer information into databases.
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly billing including itemized statements, bills, invoices and recording amounts due for services rendered.
  • Verifies accuracy of billing data and revises any errors.
  • Contacts customers to obtain or relay account information.
  • Maintains records of invoices and support documents.
  • Act as liaison with Twin Valley School District for Pennsylvania education billing.
  • Reconciles numbers and codes on accounting documents. Identifies discrepancies and brings them to management’s attention.
  • Verifies mathematical accuracy.
  • Operates adding machine, calculator, copy machine, computer and printer and other office machines.
  • Responds to inside or outside inquires as they relate to billing questions.
  • Maintains reconciliation of education receivables and reports on collection issues.
  • Prepares certified outgoing mail for PDE Form 4605.
  • Follow up on disclaimed PDE 4605 forms to obtain correct residency and school districts to allow for education billing.
  • Respond to outside requests to verify resident placement intake and discharge dates.
  • Enter treatment residents into E-School system and assign class work schedules
  • Obtain or assign PA Secure ID numbers for incoming residents as requested by the Education Director and teachers
  • Obtain current IEP’s on special education students as needed to ensure proper reimbursement
  • Order all resident related supplies
  • Order all office supplies
  • Order all school supplies
  • Provide backup support for payroll and time keeping functions.
  • Supports the Abraxas philosophy and mission and promotes the Seven Key Principles of care.

Job Requirements



Minimum Requirements: 

  • The following educational requirements are acceptable for this classification including:
    • High school diploma or GED and a minimum of three years experience in billing and accounts receivable or bookkeeping; OR
    • Associate’s degree in accounting, preferred.
  • Other Qualifications:
    • At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
    • Criminal clearances (Act 33 and 34, specific State & child clearances and, if necessary, FBI).
    • Non-communicable diseases physical exam.
    • Valid driver's license from employee’s state of residence.
    • Valid registered vehicle insurance.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
