The Admissions Intake Supervisor is a member of the multidisciplinary team, who is directly involved in providing quality care for patients within the therapeutic milieu. The Admission Supervisor is responsible for overseeing Intake Counselors, Client Relation Liaisons, and Treatment Advocates to ensure the implementation of the admissions policies and procedures and managing contacts with utilization reviewers and counselors. He/she is also responsible for working with the admissions and facility staff to assure exceptional patient and community satisfaction. 




 Responsible for coordinating the intake of clients and maintaining appropriate census through the scheduling, assessment and intake of adult and adolescent clients, under the supervision of the Facility Director. This position supervises intake staff located within the facility and as well as Client Relations Liaisons within their designated territory.

Essential Functions:

• Completes assessments using ASAM and DSM IV criteria as a basis for recommendation of treatment and communication of client information.

• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the process of accessing insurance for clients from precertification, certification and continued care reviews.

• Coordinates all admissions, to include; scheduling transportation, writing intake summaries, and taking care of any customer service needs.

• Works collaboratively with other departments to ensure that all admission and intake processes are completed.

• Recognizes symptoms of the dually diagnosed patient.

• Communicates referral information to the treatment team as well as participates is staffing’s and team meetings.

• Develops therapeutic relationships with residents, significant others and providers; uses communication skills to engage them in the treatment process.

• Interacts with other agencies, professionals, and referral sources and presents a positive image of the facility and the organization.

• Maintains appropriate credentials and pursues internal and/or external training and development opportunities.

• Required to provide direct services and complete assessments/admissions within department


Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements: 

The following educational requirements are acceptable for this classification including:

• Bachelor ‘s degree in addictions, social work, psychology, or human services related discipline and clinical credential in ILLINOIS such as CADC, LSW, LCSW, LPC, OR LCPC.

• Two years’ experience working with substance use population.

Other Qualifications:

  • At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Criminal clearances (Act 33 and 34, specific State & child clearances and, if necessary, FBI).
  • Non-communicable diseases physical exam.
  • Valid driver's license from employee’s state of residence.
  • Valid registered vehicle insurance.
