Abraxas Family & Youth Services requires strong, confident staff members, who have the capacity to deal with high-risk youth who have behavioral and emotional difficulties. Youth may experience frequent emotional crisis and be assaultive and/or destructive. You must have the skills to verbally de-escalate a crisis and to use mature judgment with youth who are out of control. You will need leadership skills, milieu management skills, high energy levels, self-discipline, a cool approach to volatile situations, reliability, flexibility, and dedication.

Minimum Requirements

The following education requirements are acceptable for this classification including:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

Other Qualifications:

  • At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Criminal clearances (specific State & child clearances and, if necessary, FBI).
  • Non-communicable diseases physical exam.
  • Valid driver's license from employee’s state of residence.
