Responsible for general ledger accounting, including journal entries, month-end close process, financial reporting, account analysis and reconciliation. Also responsible for accurate and timely processing of cost.

 Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries, preparation and distribution of financial information, account analysis and reconciliation.
  • Assists management with the annual budget process and with analyzing monthly budget variances.
  • Assists with the fiscal year-end audit.
  • Processes cost transactions, analyzes and adjusts direct sales cost of goods sold. Reports on activity to management.
  • Analyzes individual sales deals and excess/slow moving, warranty and obsolescence reserves.
  • Analyzes monthly manufacturing period cost entries. Records quarterly manufacturing variances, and prepares analysis report.
  • Reviews, analyzes and ensures adequate controls of inventory balances. Audits the cycle count process for inventory.
  • Posts direct labor hours by work order into Syteline.
  • Establishes and reviews standard costs.
  • Records entries related to sales type leases.
  • Performs internal audits to ensure accuracy of customer billings, including, but not limited to, comparison of sales matrices, customer contracts, contract releases and customer invoices
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related field, or equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience required.
  • At least five (5) years of accounting experience.
  • At least three (3) years of cost accounting in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Effective communication skills and good interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates initiative and is able to work with little supervision.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices.
  • Solid understanding of standard cost structures.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of integrated accounting systems.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
