Summary

  • This position maintains and ensures full and accurate resident accountability and oversees the security and safety of the facility, its staff and residents. The Shift Supervisor trains assigned staff in their duties which follow standard Company policies and procedures and client contractual obligations and in accordance with ACA guidelines.

This role will also provide support to the medication management of our residents, in addition to the security operations duties.

This is a full time position with benefits and PTO .  Wages are $14.00 per hour.

Shift is Monday - Friday 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.  Overtime may be requested per facility needs and your schedule may vary, as per facility needs. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervises all assigned staff activities.
  • Provides disciplinary and/or coaching sessions to assigned staff.
  • Oversees security check points and resident movement.
  • Maintains precise resident headcount.
  • Monitors resident reception/discharge activity including resident file maintenance.
  • Ensures audio/video equipment is in working condition.
  • Maintains a substance abuse tracking system for resident drug screenings.
  • Collects, organizes and completes shift operations reports.
  • Oversees and/or conducts body searches and searches of resident quarters.
  • Responds to crisis and executes appropriate intervention protocol.
  • Executes Company on-the-job training program for newly assigned staff.
  • Conducts operation counselor 90-days progress reports and annual performance reviews.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to assigned staff.
  • Keeps staff informed of upcoming events and facility/company initiatives.
  • Participates in mandatory Company training programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year as a Monitor I or two (2) years related experience in a similar field. Demonstrated leadership experience is preferred.
  • Must hold a current and active Driver’s License.
  • Familiar with community correctional operations, corrections laws, rules and regulations and the principle and practices of supervision training.
  • Ability to write legible reports in English in own handwriting, using correct grammar.
  • Ability to plan motivate, control, schedule, train and react quickly and appropriately to emergencies situations, effectively communicate with residents and staff.
  • Ability to work any assigned shift
  • Ability to work with computers and the applicable software typically used by the facility
