Summary

  • This position conducts project-specific research, due diligence, organization, tracking, updating, presentation and automating of all project research in support of the company’s business development initiatives. Monitors and analyzes legislation, budgets processes, and other government activities impacting company business development goals.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs detailed due diligence and develops appropriate database of project-specific information in support of initiatives to more easily retrieve information in support of growth of the business.
  • Develops and maintains a Resource Library (electronic and hard copy) of information for major initiatives and projects.
  • Tracks key changes in current and potential customer agency budgets, shortfalls, capacity needs, efficiency, and savings needs.
  • Monitors and analyzes the activities and new policies established by federal, state, and local governments and provides summaries of proposed or passed relevant legislation, noting potential impact on company business.
  • Develops and maintains presentation prep including project maps, company and facility data, research results, etc. in support of organization’s business and industry.
  • Assists in researching project background or other information as needed for proposal development. May include but not limited to client policies and procedures, statistical data, related community entities and procedures, zoning ordinances and related requirements.
  • Coordinates requests under Freedom of Information Act as needed for targeted projects.
  • Works with corporate information technology to develop systems to streamline research and tracking, as well as review ‘off the shelf’ products or third party companies that may mine information for efficiency and timeliness of results of requests for information and analysis and production of same.
  • Develops internal research and case studies for specific organizational projects focusing on economic or fiscal impact, cost savings, and other benefits.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements



Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in research, marketing, business administration or related degree.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of business experience preferred.
  • Flexibility and the ability to meet requests in a timely manner in a demanding and fast-paced corporate environment.
  • Requires familiarity with commonly used procurement, business, and corrections industry related expressions.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to form and maintain good working relationships with a diverse staff and a commitment to enhancing cultural competency.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software applications typically used by the department. Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and mapping software programs preferred.
