SUMMARY
This is a professional position directed toward therapeutic care and rehabilitation of the adolescents in care. Incumbent is directly responsible for oversight and operations of the units, the clinical care and welfare of the residents and the supervision and guidance of Treatment Supervisors
Essential Functions:
• Oversees the scheduling of all direct care employees to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
• Provides oversight to Supervisor's so as they coordinate and conduct resident activities including interventions, unit meetings, outings, seminars and special events.
• Oversees and conducts supervisory conferences with all Treatment Supervisors on a monthly basis.
• Conducts staff meeting with Supervisors on a weekly basis.
• Manages overtime for direct care staff and provides weekly variance report to the Facility Director to ensure compliance to annual budget.
• Attends Unit Meetings and directs and/or participates in conferences for the discussion of behavior, diagnosis and progress of clients.
• Reviews client movement such as transfers, discharge and continuing care plans.
• Serves as liaison with external contacts such as probation officers/case workers, family members and internal contacts such as training director, medical staff, etc...
• Provides oversight to Treatment Supervisors who supervise and evaluate staff performance and handle discipline as needed.
• Complete in-service training to meet the requirements for continued personal and professional development.
• Comply with Abraxas work rules and policies explained in the company employee handbook and respond positively to directives from managers and supervisors to ensure conformance to standard.
• Adhere to Abraxas attendance policy; work overtime as required to ensure deadlines are met.
• Comply with company safety rules; take appropriate corrective action to ensure work is performed in a safe manner and without injury to self or others.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of staff in a manner that promotes a team spirit and a sense of cooperation.
• Demonstrates appropriate use of Safe Crisis Management techniques and skills.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of current management techniques. Familiar with Texas youth correction system Knowledge of contemporary counseling techniques as it relates to youth. Knowledge of training and security issues.
Skills/ Abilities:
Write clear reports in English, using correct grammar. Able to delegate motivate control schedule and train, effectively interface with residents and staff; react quickly and appropriately in an emergency situation
