Job Description

Facility: CASPER REENTRY CENTER

Pay: $13.39 hr.

Bonus (if applicable): $2000 SIGN ON BONUS

H&W: $4.22 hr. This position is eligible to receive a Health & Welfare Benefit Rate per hour on all hours paid up to 40 hours per week and not to exceed 2,080 hours per year.

Summary

This position’s primary responsibilities involves communicating with drivers during their shift, providing mentoring as necessary, and collaborating and interacting with others in a positive, effective manner. This position also serves as a substitute driver or Monitor as needed, and dispatches fleet operations.



Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight and mentoring to drivers by performing all the duties of a regular driver and monitor.
  • Ensures teams follow safe and effective transportation procedures and in compliance with laws, policies, and facility goals.
  • Provides a role model that will foster healthy self-images and professional attitudes in employees.
  • Develops, organizes, and conducts training classes to provide fully qualified drivers for facility operations.
  • Demonstrates thorough preventive maintenance procedures and pre and post trip van inspection to maintain vehicles in good operating condition.
  • Receives and records complaints from residents or community members in a courteous manner, carefully listening to the complainant’s side without making judgment; investigate complaints and seek resolution to conflicts in a professional positive manner.
  • Demonstrates prescribed and proper management techniques to maintain a safe and orderly atmosphere on the vehicles.
  • Assists to investigate workplace injuries and vehicle accidents.
  • Provides routing functions to accommodate all residents, and production of route sheets, maps, stop indices, and all pertinent information on each route.
  • Leads a team of drivers to keep routes current and cost effective.
  • Assists with the preparation of route descriptions, mileage information, and monthly ridership data for internal and external reporting.
  • Completes monthly audits of fuel transactions to include resolving any identified issues.
  • Completes van tallies of residents and submits them to the Resident Account Advisor in a timely manner for billing purposes.
  • Attends all in-service training classes and professional development as required by the Company or client.
  • Submits Drug and Alcohol Testing as required.
  • Practices safe work habits and uses personal protective equipment when required.
  • Constantly demonstrates a caring, positive, friendly attitude and cooperative spirit toward residents and staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements



Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate and two years’ experience in the operation of a vehicle.
  • Must possess previous leadership qualities.
  • Must practice safe driving practices and methods and ensure other drivers do the same.
  • Must apply principles, methods, techniques and strategies for the training of drivers.
  • Must possess technical aspects of field of specialty.
  • Must be able to apply laws, rules and regulations related to assigned activities.
  • Must possess interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
  • Must apply the necessary principles and practices for leading and training.
  • Must have the ability to coordinate and conduct driver training and safety programs.
  • Must be able to conduct investigations of accidents.
  • Must be able to maintains accurate records.
  • Must understand and follow oral and written directions.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
  • Must observe and apply legal and defensive driving practices.
  • Must be able to read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
  • Valid, active driver's license (WYOMING)
