Abraxas Youth and Family Services is a national leader in the operation of residential treatment facilities and community-based programs for troubled youth and their families. 

Summary

The position performs administrative, clerical and routine billing and accounting activities for a program or facility and provides administrative support to the administrative office.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares monthly and quarterly education billing including itemized statements, bills, invoices and recording amounts due for services rendered.
  • Maintains reconciliation of education receivables and reports on collection issues.
  • Prepares and follows up on disclaimed PDE 4605 forms to obtain correct residency and school districts to allow for education billing.
  • Assists with accounts payable to include processing and reconciliation.
  • Assists with biweekly payroll and time keeping functions.

 

Job Requirements

Accounting experience is required!

Minimum Requirements

The following educational requirements are acceptable for this classification including:

  • High school diploma and five (5) years accounting, experience; OR
  • Associate’s degree and two (2) years accounting experience.
  • Excellent grammar, communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to compose and edit grammatically correct correspondence and reports.
  • Comprehensive computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

Other Qualifications:

  • At least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Criminal clearances (Act 33 and 34, specific State & child clearances and, if necessary, FBI).
  • Non-communicable diseases physical exam.
  • Valid driver's license from employee’s state of residence.
  • Valid registered vehicle insurance.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
